Handling Florida house plan review comments

Keep reviewer requests, revised drawings, and consultant responses connected.

A request for revisions is a coordination task. The useful next step is to identify exactly what the reviewer needs, who must respond, and which documents are affected.

Preserve the original comment list

Keep the reviewer’s wording and numbering, along with the relevant submission and review date. Distinguish requests for information from required drawing changes. If a comment is unclear, seek clarification through the appropriate review channel before making assumptions.

Assign the responsible responder

Some comments concern the application, while others require design-professional work. Route technical requests to the professional responsible for that scope. Avoid editing engineering documents independently or treating a response letter as a replacement for revised drawings when those are requested.

Track dependencies between sheets

A changed opening or footprint can affect multiple drawings. Coordinate the response so the revised set tells one consistent story. Keep superseded versions separate from the current submission to reduce confusion for the owner, contractor, and reviewer.

Confirm resubmittal scope

Ask which responses and revision rounds are included in your service agreement. Full Set Designs offers comments and issuance tracking where scoped and available. Review time and approval remain with the authority; changes in project scope can create additional work.

A common question

Are all permit revisions included in the original price?

That depends on the agreement. Clarify the treatment of reviewer comments, owner-requested design changes, new site information, and additional review rounds before commissioning the work.
